Something I am working on...

For Christmas, I received a book - God's Promises for Your Every Need. I love it. When I have a few extra minutes or longer sometimes, I read it. The book is broken up into 9 different sections, most having numerous sub-sections. One (two actually) verse that I have read a few times now that I believe would help me in many aspects of my life is:
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 4:31, 32

These verses, this concept has really been speaking to my heart lately, and I just felt like sharing it with you! In all aspects of life, with all relationships this is great instruction.
I always feel better when my relationships are pleasant and courteous, but there are times when arguments and bitterness occur. God is working on my heart to change my thought processes and I am seeing myself becoming more of what He wants me to be. I pray that it is a continuous change and that I stay open to the will of the Lord.

This is not a New Year's "Resolution" but I am making changes this year, and I look forward to sharing the journey with all of you! Please feel free to leave any thoughts, suggestions, advice or your own journey with me!
I hope that you have a very blessed day!

A Light In Dark Times

I get so sad sometimes when I watch the news, read the newspapers, or anything like that.

What has happened to the world, where have all of the morals gone? People used to be compassionate and friendly...not so much anymore. Every time you turn around, it seems like there is something going on that makes your cringe.

Last night there was some kind of documentary that hubby was watching and I walked through and listened to it for a few minutes and heard terrible, terrible things - a 5 year old little girl was abducted while she was riding her bike, her mom turned away for a minute and she was gone. They found this little girl's body five days later and she had been sexually assaulted and strangled.
**I don't know the name of this little girl or her family name, but please if you feel compelled to, take a minute right now and pray for her family. God hears all prayers, and I believe that the family needs comfort.**

I am honestly terrified for my children and their entire generation. I pray that the morals and values that are being instilled in them now will hold strong through all the trials that they have ahead of them. I am having to stand on Psalm 22:6 right now as I am writing this.
I know that what I am about to say is not politically correct, and may even offend some people - so be it. Children are being taught to accept so many things that are UNACCEPTABLE - even as early as kindergarten.
Here are some things that I believe and will teach my children, even though it seems to not be the "norm" anymore
* God will never leave you, and He will not give you more than you can handle
* sex is sacred, save it for marriage
* abortion is not birth control, it is murder, it is a sin and it is wrong
* homosexuality is a sin, it is wrong

Just to clarify, I am not perfect! I am not judging anyone by writing this, just sharing my thoughts and beliefs.
There is more...but my baby just woke up and I feel like I need to go love on her right now.
Here is a verse for you all to ponder, if you so desire:
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. —Matthew 5:16
What are you going to do today to glorify God?

Evolution lesson in school...(forwarded e-mail I received)

SOMEBODY'S RAISING THEIR KID RIGHT!
One Nation, 'Under God.'
One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a
classroom. The teacher was going to explain
evolution to the children.
The teacher asked a little boy: Tommy do you see the tree
outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass
outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see
if you can see the sky.
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes
later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God up there?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see
God because he isn't there. Possibly he just
doesn't exist.
A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the
boy some questions.
The teacher agreed and the
little girl asked the boy: Tommy, do you see the tree
outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass
outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the
teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we
were taught today in school, she possibly
may not even have one!
(You Go Girl!)
FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT'
II CORINTHIANS 5:7

Don't forget to pass this on! I love this one.
Everyone should send this to everyone they
know, especially today with prayer restricted
in schools Forward if you believe in GOD!!!!
