My family!!!

This is an older picture of us - it was taken Thanksgiving 2008. After everyone else had left, we were still at my mom's house and we decided to take a few pictures. In this picture, Emily was almost 2 (literally days away) and Natalie was about 2 1/2 months old...I wont tell you how old Zack and I were!

From day one, Emily has always loved to hold her baby sister. Back in these days it was much easier for her because Natalie didn't move around to much - nowadays it is a comical sight!

I will post newer pictures when I am able to find the box in the garage that has my camera. Hopefully, that will be really soon - I miss taking pictures, it is one of my passions!

Dinner, revived!

I am so excited. You have no idea what this new discovery means for my family!! I had a Pampered Chef party a few weeks ago and we made a one pan chicken dinner - it was a variation of the 30-minute chicken. Anyways, I was able to cook a WHOLE chicken AND vegetables in the microwave in just over 30 minutes! A WHOLE CHICKEN!!! Naturally, I bought the deep dish baker that was used in the recipe. I received the products from my show the other day and made the 30 minute chicken AGAIN last night. This time I opted to remove the skin from the chicken before cooking to reduce the fat - Zack objected, saying that it was going to dry out the chicken...oh he of little faith, lol. It took about 30 minutes to cook the chicken and the veggis. I love it! I also have a few other good recipies to try in this baker - 30 minute ribs, orange glazed sticky ribs, mexican chicken lasagna... I love it! In fact, I love it so much that I now sell it - that's right if you every find yourself looking for a Pampered Chef Consultant, look no further! (Ok, so that last sentence was a bit self-serving, but hey, it's MY blog!):P

Yeah Right

Ok, so this morning Zack (hubby), Roger (his uncle), and Mike (a buddy of Zack's from work) went up by Elko to scout out Zack's hunting zone since archery season begins next Saturday. I had great ambitions of what I would get done while I was sans husband - finish lining the kitchen cupboards and get the drawers and cupboards in the bathrooms lined. Well, other than routine maintenience (sweeping, dishes) nothing happened to the kitchen and nothing at all happened to the bathrooms. It seems as though all of my "extra" chores today consisted of removing M&M slobber from the new carpet. Yes, if you turn your back for two minutes it is possible that your toddler will give your baby M&Ms and your baby will slobber blue, pink, and orange on your carpet. Thankfully, I read somewhere (sorry can't give credit because I don't remember where) that if you mix a few capfulls of peroxide with water it is the superman of cleaning chemicals...I agree!!!
...The point that I was getting at is that there is no way that I can do everything in one day that I would like to do and take care of my incredibly active, sometimes devious children, yeah right!

Getting cozy

So we were able to get the keys to our house on June 11 - it was supposed to be May 29, but things happen. Zack and I were so excited to be able to move into our first house and be able to make it ours. The first day that we came out here to start cleaning and what have you, we had an issue with a busted water pipe, which lead to the realization that our hot water heater had been stolen sometime while the house was in escrow. Not having any other option, we went to Home Depot and bought a new hot water heater. Turns out that there were issues with the way the old one was ripped from the wall and we required the assistance of a plumber, great guy - very friendly. Anyways, it was about two days later that our water got turned on and all of the issues were taken care of - thank God.
Anyways, there have been several things that we have had to do since moving in - the rest were expected! We had to tear out the carpet and had Home Depot install new carpet...it's great! Had to get appliances, they come in apartments not houses. We painted the house - are painting actually, we still have the spare room to paint and some trim. And lots of cleaning!!! There are still quite a few things that need to be done, but we are turning this house into a home. My husband loves having a yard to play in and with...hopefully next year we will have a great garden, got a bit of a late start for this year.
Just wanted to let all of you know how we are coming along in our home-owning adventure. We would like to thank the people who have been giving us love and support during the times that we wanted to rip our hair out and the times that we could just stand back, hold hands, and smile.
