Thankful Thursday - Selah

Selah.
Stop, take a minute to reflect.
Selah is probably either a liturgico-musical mark or an instruction on the reading of the text, something like "stop and listen". "Let those with eyes see and with ears hear" is most concise. According to Wikipedia

I am so thankful for the times in my life where selah seems so appropriate. As in the Psalms, after a particular meaningful passage, selah is used to command, remind, allow...us to stop and let something sink in.
I have had a lot of "particularly important/meaningful" moments as of late, and I am thankful for Selah. It is in the quite moments after things are calm that I really let things sink in.
My daughter turned 3 on Sunday, I have had this child and loved her for THREE years. That deserves a moment of reflection.
Marriage is hard, relationships are not perfect, people change. Thankfully, the Lord does NOT change! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever and He will not give me more than I can bear. Selah.

For those of you who are reading this, please take a moment to say a prayer of encouragement for me, for God to make His presence felt and put His hands around my family? I thank you for any prayers you offer up on my behalf.
And as Christmas draws nearer, I pray for the families who are not going to be together for one reason or another and ask that everyone feel the true Spirit of Christmas in their lives, at this time of year and always!

  2. Oh Katrina I have often dwelt on these very things too. At 55 years of age I have learned that life is often like a roller coast ride. Sometimes you are climbing, and as you are slowly chugging up, you wonder if you will EVER reach that mountain top you are aiming for. Then you reach the top and experience the wonder and majesty of it all, but eventually you find yourself traveling downwards again, holding on as much of life whips past you so fast, you can hardly see. In the valleys of life it is sometimes hard to even imagine the day the climb will begin again. But it always does. But your soo right, one thing ALWAYS remains the same, our wonderful Sabior, and I am soo grateful for that too.

Lord, I lift Katrina and her precious family to you right now and ask that you might touch her heart and spirit in a special way. I pray that she and her family will feel your presence in a very real way this Christmas season, and all year long. May they know your comfort and experience your peace that passes all understanding. May your arms of love wrap around them now and may your face shine upon them forever. In your Sons precious name we pray. AMEN

    Have a wonderful week Katrina!

Amen Katrina! Praying over your marriage and family! May God continue to be your strength and His truths be what you allow to guide you - not what your eyes see or know - but the very faith God has given you!

Rejoicing over the three years of life with your daughter. That does deserve a moment of reflection!

    In His grace,
    Jill

  7. We join in prayer and petition, laying you and your family at His feet, for where there are two or more that is where He will be!

May He hold you always by your right hand and guide you in all you do, for you are "worth more than rubies" and are "clothed with strength and dignity"!

    Selah!

P.S. Thank you for reminding me of Mulan ;)
