A Trick or Treating Question

In Nevada, the kids are trick-or-treating tonight because October 31 is Nevada Day and it has it's own set of festivities... Anyways I am thinking about going to the grocery store and getting a bunch of fruit. Here is the question I need you to answer: Do you think my house will get egged if I hand out fruit and Halloween tracts as oppossed to candy? Seriously, kids like fruit - it is sweet and healthy, and the tract is part of my Halloween giving every year. So what do you think - fruit or candy?

  1. I don't know that it would get egged....but personally, as a parent, if my child got fruit in their trick or treat bag I'd throw it away. You just don't know what people will do these days. When I was little there was a huge National scare because people were putting razor blades inside apples and handing them out. So I don't think I'd go with fruit!! Play Doh makes little containers for Halloween...and there's lots of non-candy options in the stores these days.

  3. Good point Tiffany, I would probably throw out fruit too. You never know - how sad is that.
It turns out that only Carson City was doing the trick or treating on Friday, so I didn't have to worry about it. I got a bag of candy and some tracts anyway. Saturday we went to a concert at church (post coming soon) and then Dairy Queen and home - so there were only a few people out by the time we got home, the ones that came to us got candy and tracts. Good times, safe night!
