The first Chem test is a thing of the past...

Last week, both Monday and Wednesday, I took my first Chemistry exam. It was hard, maybe even brutal. I thought I was pretty well prepared: I study, I do my homework, read the lecture notes A LOT.

I was wrong. I was not prepared.

I spent so much time going over everything that we had learned in class that I all but forgot to study all the math concepts that we are expected to know.

The test was Monday and Wednesday, we were supposed to get our grades tonight in class. We did not. I am so frustrated! The only thing related to our grades that we saw was a chart showing the grades received, and the average was a 50-something. I am going crazy not knowing if I passed or failed, did good or bad... I need to know, and it looks like I am going to have to wait at least another week to find out.

So if you feel like sending some patience my way, and a few good thoughts, I would gladly take 'em! :)

Wordless Wednesday - Ultrasound Pics

This is our little baby, he or she seems to be growing just fine. It's a stubborn little thing though, becasue as you know (if you read my previous post) that the baby would not uncross its legs so the sex could be determined.

The top picture is the baby with his/her hand by his/her face.
The bottom picture is the baby's face...what a cutie, huh?

Oh to be like a child!

I told Emily, our 3 year old, that when we get our taxes back we would take her to the Olive Garden for dinner. Of course, if you know kids you probably know what kind of questions she asked...
What are taxes?
Who do you have to get them back from?

So after explaining how everybody has to pay taxes out of their pay checks and that the government uses the money from taxes for a lot of different things...she was finally satisfied with my explanations.
Well, a few minutes ago she came up to me and told me...
Call the government and tell them to give our taxes back!
I love it!
Kids really do say the darnedest things!

Thankful Thursday ~ Love

How appropriate that Iris, at Grace Alone, who is hosting Thankful Thursday this month would chose to write about love...it is soon to be Valentine's Day after all! Hers is a wonderful post, so when you are done here, you should go check out her blog, and there is a linky with other Thankful Thursday posts!

There are so many places in scripture that speak of love. This verse here is from a letter Paul wrote to the Romans. This morning I read this verse on Iris's post and it spoke to me, so I thought that I would share it with you as well.

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 8:37-39

With a love like that, a PERFECT love, from a PERFECT God...what more could I ever need? NOTHING can separate us form the love of God, how amazing is that? But God is so good, He has given me even more. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband who loves me, and two (and a half) children who are more joy and love than I ever imagined.
I love my family with everything that I have. It is incredibly comforting to know that the love I have for them is minuscule compared to the love that God has for each of us.
There is no comparing love; I am human so my love may fail at times. But His never does!
What an awesome thought! What an amazing thing to be thinking about as Valentines Day rolls around the corner!

Have a blessed day, a blessed week, and a blessed Valentines Day. When you are sharing Valentines Day with the one(s) you love, please take a second to remember that there is One who loves you with a good, perfect, everlasting love!

Wordless Wednesday - (Re)Meeting Uncle Brent

This was the first time that Natalie ever met her Uncle Brent, and it was the first time Emily was really "meeting" him. She met him once before but would not let him look at her or talk to her or anything... They loved him!
My kids love their uncles - Brent and Blake!
